Raxa was founded by Dr Surajit Nundy in 2011, who was trained at Harvard, Duke and Washington Universities in the US. He returned to India after completing his residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital of Harvard Medical School, a PhD in Computational Neuroscience, and a degree in Public Health, in order to improve health for all. Dr Nundy was following in the footsteps of his father, the GI surgeon, Dr Samiran Nundy, who himself had left Harvard to return to India and join AIIMS in the mid-1970s.
After working in underserved areas in rural and urban India, Dr Surajit ‘Shuro’ Nundy realised that India's limited resources needed to be scaled to address its massive needs. His training in artificial intelligence (AI) made it clear to him that the only way to do that was to help everyone with expert, trusted, thus intelligent information. Dr Nundy led a team of global experts at Raxa to build AI-based systems that could improve the quality at the point of care. These and other systems power Raxa's platform to provide expert, trusted healthcare for all.
